From the recent National Executive meeting

October 31, 2007

I have good news for those of you who told me they thought that sometimes it was a big jump to return to study at Level 5 with the Open Polytechnic papers – well, the Open Polytechnic offer a one semester Level 4 Tertiary Studies Course.  Once you have completed this you are given a voucher for your first paper at Level 5.  This means that it will be free!  Go for it!

Also, don’t forget that SLANZA offers study grants.  Get the application form from the SLANZA website (www.slanza.org.nz).

Recent visits

October 26, 2007

I enjoyed visiting and talking to all the school librarians firstly at the Feilding Primary School Network meeting at Kimbolton School and then at Spotswood College in New Plymouth.

It was good to be able to share information about the SLANZA Study Grants with the Primary librarians and Professional Registration with the Taranaki folk.  I look forward to meeting with other groups in our Central region.

Herb Farm trip cancelled

October 10, 2007

Regrettably, I have had to cancel our planned trip to the Herb Farm this Saturday because there weren’t enough people who had registered.

Our committee will meet shortly to plan another hopefully more successful event.

Any ideas for events would be very welcome.
